Youtube
Dionne Desa
To create out concepts in research and planning we used 3 different technologies : Emaze/Prezi + OBS (to create). An youtube (to upload the work after).
We used youtube so that the audience could interact and make a decision on which concept they found to be the baest and would watch - we used people from the average cinema 'goer' age (15-24) we then decided on what was then called 'the wickleshick' |
we also used youtube to show our final film trailer. this was the most important part as people would be able to see decide if they want to see the film it was important that we used what actual film companies used to make this more realistic. we Were successful in doing this as the video is the correct length and has been uploaded onto youtube. However, we were unsuccessful in branding due to the fact that we used one f our groups names and not a production name to upload the trailer, this may confuse people into thinking that is was a fan made - this makes it look less professional.
Survey Monkey
Neneh Watfa
Survey monkey is a online software which allows you to create any type of questionnaires within the programme which fits your preference. Survey monkey is an easy and free service, allowing access to thousands. We used survey monkey mainly in audience research as it was a quick and effective way to quickly and easily gain answers for our questionnaires to help our trailer, as survey monkey provides you with links which can be easily shared, making it easier than handing out paper questionnaires. A useful tool of survey monkey is that it turns your survey results into simple bar graphs, which is effective for analysing answers and the moat chosen answer.

Whatsapp is a social media which allows people to communicate people all over the world, any time of the day. Whatsapp is one of the most used social media around the world for communicating as it does not charge you extra if you want to call or message out of your country. We used whatsapp to help gain other responses for our poster and magazine survey. Whatsapp made getting different answers as it is very easy within the app to create a broadcast list, where you can add all contact you want to send the message to and it will send to all contacts instead of individually messaging each contact and copying and pasting the same message.
Padlet
Neneh Watfa
Padlet is an online presentation software, which gives people a different layout from microsoft powerpoint as a way of presenting information. Padlet is a free service and very easy to use and allows you to chose and personalise your presentation in any form, notes, card like slide, etc. We used padlet in our horror genre research and we used it for presenting information about the monster Sub genre that we had chosen.
Scribd
Neneh Watfa
Scribd is a online reading service which allows you to upload different types of documents files and enables lots of different people to see that document without actually needing the file being sent and then downloaded onto your desktop. We used scribd mainly to upload out word documents that we used to create our poster and magazine surveys on.
Camera Training:
Omasan Pemu
|
For Filming I used the Canon 750D to film. However i had to do training so I understood, how to use a camera, as there are important parts of the camera, such as the ISO which allows you to filter the lighting and the different types of shots i needed.
We also used different lenses, such as the cannon 50mm, which allows you to capture wide angled scenes, it is an F 1.8 stm lens. A 28 mm lens, which is F 2.8 stm, and the sigma 18-300mm lens, which is a zoom lens and allows us to zoom in, however this lens was the least used in the filming of our trailer. |
10 Stock Scenes
Here we had to chose the 10 Key stock scenes that we would use in our trailers. After evaluating our trailer it is clear that not all of the stock scenes were used, this is due to the fact that we changed ideas in our trailer, sop we has to add more stock scenes and delete some. For example we didn't use the behind opaque glass shot and Zombie track away. But we used the resting before jumpscare and the Zombie track away, however we changed the idea to a walking shot of the antagonist feet alone. This allowed us to Research the shots we would use, and plan how and where we were going to used them.
Different types of Camera shots
This task was used to Ensure that we understood the different types of Camera Angles, shots and Movements. We had to take our own examples of the shots, making sure that we did thorough research about the shots, so we would know what shots we wanted to use in our trailer and why we were using them. After that we had to create a video of all the shots put together, through this it allowed us to learn how to use Final Cut Pro and research the different types of tools and functions so that when it came to making the trailer we knew the suitable tools and transitions to use.
Weebly
Omasan Pemu
Weebly is a free web-hosting service featuring a drag-and-drop website builder. As a team we used Weebly to build our website. The address for our website is http://ghostlyghoulsproductions.weebly.com/ On our website you will find the log of our group work. This is where we have documented all of our course work, from our Research & Planning stage to our Production stage. This allowed us to be organised. As we all had our own different sections, where we could upload our work.
Thinglink
Dionne desa
Thing link is a website that we USED to compile some of our information in research and planning. it allows you to keep the AESTHETIC on the blog by reducing the amount of text seen, before you 'hover' over the on screen buttons. We USED it to show the information from our textual analysis in a CREATIVE way. this included: describing the mis-en-cne as well as showing the background from the company that made the film. it also allowed us to USE online digital media to create. The site is free and can be presented on many platforms including weebly and other site builds. Another way that this can be used is to label certain parts of an image to show the background e.g. how the make up was made.

Abobe Photoshop
Laura Isabel Lozano-Robles
The software which we used for the editing of our poster was Photoshop, Photoshop allowed us to edit the image we had taken to make it become more realistic and appropriate for our poster. Consequently as we had used photoshop in AS when creating our music magazine we were familiar with some of the tools to editing which helped with the process of editing the photos.

Draft Poster
Poster
The way in which we edited away the background was by using the quick selection tool to selecting the new layer to finally create a new layer and then pressing delete to take of the background leaving us only with the hand.
Photoshop allowed us to layer over the image to make the makeup from the photograph stand out this also resulted in the eyes of the protagonist becoming darker connoting the possession of the antagonist over the protagonist, in addition to this we also edited the hand of the antagonist by adding red effects to the claws and darkening the bottom of the image this made the hand become more dominant.
After i edited the photograph i focused on adding the the icons so the laurels, title, social icons, billing block, website, tag line and the production logo. Above are the main stages of the editing including the draft poster which had some original ideas which we took forward to the final product, that being the font for the title of the film "NECROSIS"

Draft Magazine
The software which we used for the editing of our magazine was Photoshop, Photoshop allowed us to place the image for the magazine and also change the font for the text. In addition as we had used photoshop in AS when creating our music magazine it allowed us to started editing with this software straight away.
Magazine
For the editing of the magazine we used photoshop; this software allowed us to place the final photograph int the layout and to edit it to make the photograph become more realistic to be able to be on the magazine. in addition to this we also edited the text for the fonts on the front cover and adding the secondary images.
Final Cut Pro
Omasan Pemu
Final cut pro is a non-linear video editing software that was developed by Apple Inc. This software includes features such as, Magnetic Time line, Multi cam, Clip connections and 3D text. This software allowed me to editing our trailer. I was able to distort the images to add effect to the trailer, as well as add transitions, and text.
INDESIGN CC
dionne desa
indesign is one of the softwares we used in the creation of the magazine. we used it to create the base outline for the magazine as well as some of the other components such as the boost (which was eventuall changed). we also used this to decide on the placement of the text and potential secondary images. spacing and text were also decided after downloading them to the computer we types out the sentences we were going to use before we decided on one. this allowed us to use the software to create the standard aesthetics that magazines have.
here is an example of where we successfully used indesign to create the layout and the colour scheme for the magazine cover.
