Summer Trailer Evaluation
Omasan Pemu
After receiving feedback from our peers, and also going over and reevaluating our teaser trailer, we came to the conclusion that our trailer needed a lot of improvement, as there were parts that were not clearly shown. One of the critiques that we received was, that our trailer didn't seem like one trailer, that it looked like two trailers in one. When we looked back at the trailer we realised that the critique was correct. The concept of our trailer was 2 girls who have nightmares, and they are both being chased by the same villain, but it turns out that their dreams came to reality.
Another critique we received was that our trailer only started looking like a horror trailer towards the end. This is due to the locations that we used, as the locations were in common places, such as the car park of a supermarket and a field. To ensure this mistake doesn't happen again, we need to make sure we revise our locations and make sure they're are appropriate for a horror trailer, and also we should film during the evening instead of the day.
Even though there were improvements that needed to be made, we still received positive feedback.
The viewers liked the elevator shot, where the doors opened and the antagonist is standing in the elevator, they said it was an very effective shot, as it shocked them.
They also said that the background music was really effective as it helped build up tension.
Another positive feedback we received was the editing of the trailer, as it was edited properly to help build tension, also the quick cuts were effective, as it showed the pace and intensity of the disequilibrium in the trailer.
